Terms
1. About these terms
These terms govern your use of tradestratlab.com and any free or paid services we provide through it. Submitting the waitlist form or creating an account means you agree to them. If you’re entering into them on behalf of a company, you confirm you have the authority to do so.
2. The service in plain English
TradeStratLab is a research and backtesting tool. You describe a trading strategy in plain English; we parse it into a structured spec, run it across historical CME futures data, and return a report with metrics, a trade log, an equity curve, and a written explanation.
- The output is a historical simulation, not a recommendation to trade.
- The parser may interpret your description differently than you intended — every assumption is shown so you can correct it before the run.
- Higher tiers unlock more runs, more timeframes, longer history, and chat-based refinement.
3. Not financial advice
Nothing on this site or in any backtest result constitutes financial, investment, legal, or tax advice. Trading futures involves substantial risk of loss and is not suitable for every investor. Past performance — including historical backtest performance — does not guarantee future results. You are solely responsible for your trading decisions and for evaluating whether any strategy is appropriate for your circumstances. Consult a licensed advisor where appropriate.
4. Accounts and waitlist
You can join the waitlist with an email address; we’ll write back when early access opens. The waitlist itself isn’t a paid product and creates no obligation on either side beyond contacting you.
When accounts and paid plans launch, the specific deliverables, pricing, payment terms, and cancellation terms for your subscription will be presented at sign-up and inside your account. Those terms take precedence over anything more general written here.
5. Intellectual property
You retain ownership of the strategy descriptions you write and the backtest results we generate for you. We retain ownership of:
- The TradeStratLab brand, site, software, parsers, backtest engine, and any models or prompts we use to power it
- Aggregate, anonymised usage statistics — we may use these to improve the product and write about how it’s used (without identifying you)
You grant us a non-exclusive licence to process your inputs and store your results so we can deliver the service.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the service to mislead others about historical trading performance — e.g., presenting backtest results as if they were live trading results
- Scrape, reverse-engineer, or attempt to extract our datasets or model weights
- Resell access to the service without a written agreement
- Use the service for any unlawful activity, market manipulation, or attempts to evade sanctions
If you do, we may terminate the engagement on the spot without refund.
7. Data accuracy
We make a good-faith effort to keep the historical price data accurate and the backtest engine faithful to the assumptions we display. We don’t guarantee perfection — data vendors revise history, exchanges revise contract specifications, and our parser may default a rule differently than you intended. Always review the parsed assumptions before relying on a result.
8. No warranties on performance
The service is provided “as is.” We don’t — and can’t — guarantee any specific trading or investment outcome. Whether a strategy makes money in live markets depends on slippage, latency, your discretion, the market regime, and many things we don’t control. A profitable backtest is not a profitable live strategy.
9. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from these terms or your use of the service is capped at the fees you paid us in the three months before the event giving rise to the claim, or USD 100 if you were on a free plan. We’re not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — lost profits, lost trading opportunities, lost data, reputational harm, etc.
10. Termination
You can stop using the service or close your account at any time. We can suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these terms and don’t fix it within 14 days of being asked, or immediately if we believe your use puts other users or the service at risk.
11. Changes
We may update these terms occasionally. The effective date at the top tells you when. If a change is material and you have an active account, we’ll email you. Continued use after a material change means you accept it; if you don’t, your remedy is to close your account.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the country in which the founder is established (currently a member state of the European Union). Disputes will be resolved in the competent courts of that jurisdiction. If you’re a consumer, this clause does not deprive you of any protection mandatory under the law of your habitual residence.
